We arrived back in Detroit around 11:05 PM and by the time we figured out a new game plan it was 3:00 AM before we were checked into our hotel rooms for some much needed sleep.
We were blessed to have some wonderful people from Delta airlines work diligently at getting us over to our destination in Nairobi. It’s not easy to re-book flights for 17 passengers. At lunch time on Monday (about the time we were supposed to be landing in Nairobi) we were informed of our new itinerary. We will be flying Air France to Paris, then attempting to fly into Amsterdam again (spending the night Tuesday night) then catching another flight to Nairobi. We are scheduled to arrive in Nairobi at 6:15 AM on Thursday morning – 2 ½ days behind schedule. We are scheduled to go out to Bisil for our first medical clinic on Thursday afternoon. Praise God that we will make it in time to do the clinic!

We are praying that you get to Kenya in good time and not too tired. Thanks to the Lord for HIS schedule. Have fun in Paris, if you are able to get a few hours to look around!!! We are praying for you all!!
ReplyDeletePraying for all of you! This brings back fond memories of our 2007 trip, when Joel and I flew out a couple days later due to a wedding I was in. A thunderstorm in Chicago threw the whole trip outta whack. We landed in Nairobi a good 18 hours after we were supposed to, without any of our luggage, and immediately jumped in a van and headed out to Bissil. It was a whirlwind, but we were amazed at how God sustained us throughout the clinic. By that point we had not seen a bed or fresh underwear in about 3 days. God will sustain you, too! You're a great team...you're going to great things and be a huge blessing to our friends in Kenya. God speed!
ReplyDeletePraying for safety, patience, and energy. Maybe you can even go longer without changing your underwear than Joel and Holly did!
ReplyDeleteAnd Tony - hope you are ready to hit the books again, cause you're in!
